Gerry Groggel, M.D.
Gerald C. Groggel, MD is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology and a
graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency
in internal medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and nephrology
fellowships at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and Boston University
School of Medicine.
In addition he spent two years in the Indian Health Service on the Navajo Indian Reservation
in Crown Point, NM. Prior to moving to Bozeman, Dr. Groggel was on the faculty at
the University of Utah for six years, the University of Vermont for five years and
the University of Nebraska for 15 years. At the University of Nebraska Medical Center,
he was chief of nephrology and professor of medicine.
Dr. Groggel is interested in all aspects of nephrology but in particular he specializes
in treating chronic kidney disease, particularly diabetic nephropathy. He is also
interested in critical care nephrology as well as transplantation. He has particular
interest in immunological injury in the kidney and treating various forms of glomerulonephritis.
He also has expertise in treating difficult to control hypertension.
