Student Memorial

The MSU Student Memorial was established by the Associated Students of Montana State University (ASMSU) in 1990 after the deaths of two MSU students. The purpose of the Memorial is to celebrate and remember all the students who have passed away before their graduation from MSU. For 25 years, the names of those students have been inscribed on the Memorial. 

In 2015, the ASMSU senate created a plan to renovate the memorial, making it more open and accessible to students and families. With the help of President Waded Cruzado, Vice President for Administration and Finance Terry Leist and Dean of Students Matt Caires, ASMSU raised the necessary funding to renovate the memorial in 2022.

The project would not have been possible without the generous support of Jenny and Mark Mummert, MSU parents whose daughter was directly impacted by the death of an MSU student.
