Montana State University recognizes and encourages international collaborations. These collaborations lead to scientific and creative breakthroughs, and are a key component of any vibrant research and scholarly ecosystem. Currently, U.S. academic institutions face research security challenges from some foreign governments, who are working hard to acquire U.S. technologies.  In response to this, the U.S. Government has implemented several new federal requirements on academic institutions receiving federal research funds. MSU has developed a Research Security Program to meet these federal requirements and maintain and grow our vital international collaborations. The mission of MSU’s Research Security Program is to protect our critical international research collaborations through cybersecurity, foreign travel security, research security training and export control safeguards.
