VALLEY COUNTY 4-H YEAR END AWARDS 2025

WHO CAN NOMINATE - Anyone can nominate a member (a leader, parent, other members or members can nominate themselves).  Use a separate nomination form for each award area.  (see required criteria for process)

 AREAS OF AWARD NOMINATIONS

  • Leadership, and Achievement Award - Recipients will have gained broad knowledge of 4-H projects and activities and their contributions to improving life in families, 4-H and their community.  They will also have learned to adapt and apply their knowledge and skills from project work to everyday living and use their knowledge to promote and instill 4-H pride and respect for 4-H work and its importance in others. (FORM A) 
  • Citizenship Award - Nominees will have been an active citizen and member of a 4-H club and active in county, district, and state 4-H events. They have demonstrated leadership through holding club offices, learned to practice parliamentary procedure and successfully contributed to the success of a meeting. Recipients exhibit a higher standard of positive behavior as a citizen of family, club, school. And other community organizations and take an active role in planning, organizing, and carrying out community service work. (FORM A)
  • County Project Awards - Nominees for these awards have shown excellence in project work.  This may include setting goals and recognizing if they did or did not reach those goals, creating learning experiences for themselves and others, unique project experiences as well as sharing their knowledge. Remember FAIL – First Attempt in Learning is included in learning experiences.  (FORM B)
  • Adult Awards - Valley County has traditionally recognized adults who are going the extra mile for 4-H. Categories include Outstanding Organizational Leader, Outstanding Resource Person, Outstanding Alumni and Friend of 4-H.  (FORM C) 

PROCESS......

  • Each member must have earned a Gold Seal on their Record Book before the nomination can be received.
  • Completed nomination form turned in at the Extension Office by due date.
  • The Award Committee will review the “Award of Excellence” nominations to make award selections.
  • Winners will be recognized at Award/Fun Day scheduled in the fall.
  • More than one award may be given in each area.
  • No award will be given if a standard of excellence is not achieved.

Shout Out - This is to recognize great work, teamwork, compassion and service by members that doesn’t fit within the Project Award area.  Did someone help you with a special need? Recognize opportunities to use their Head, Hands, Heart and Health in life? Development of Life Skills or was just a good guy?  This is the place to let everyone know about their great work.  (FORM D)
