Membership Questions
Anyone who is affiliated with the university or sponsored by an affiliate with an active
membership. MSU affiliates are defined as current students, faculty/staff, and degree-holding
alumni.
An MSU affiliate with an active membership can sponsor up to two non-affiliated individuals
for guest passes, multi-visit passes, and/or memberships. The affiliate who is sponsoring a non-
affiliate is not required to hold a membership for the duration of the other person’s membership;
however, they must be a present member of the facility and be present for the initial membership
sale.
The most common examples are along the lines of a university employee sponsoring a spouse
or partner or a student sponsoring a visiting friend or family member.
Members must be 18 years or older, with the exception of current MSU students enrolled
under the age of 18.
Students enrolled in 7+ credits automatically have the recreation fee applied to their tuition
and automatically receive a membership. Students not enrolled in 7+ credits or otherwise do not
have this fee applied may add the fee at the Student Accounts office in Montana Hall.
Membership and locker sales can be done at our front desk anytime during operating hours.
At this time, memberships and lockers cannot be purchased online.
Membership and locker renewals are the same process as their initial sale. They can be done
at our front desk anytime during operating hours.
Our first-floor locker rooms offer half-sized lockers that are available for all members and are
located directly across from the pool. Our second-floor locker rooms offer full-sized lockers and
are only for faculty and staff.
Members must have their CatCard scanned by our front desk staff or scan a barcode generated
from our app. Sponsored members who do not have a CatCard will receive a keychain barcode
pass to be scanned upon entry.
The “Montana State Rec Sports” app can be downloaded through your app store of choice.
The app can be used to access a barcode to scan into the facility, view our building hours, sign
up for group exercise classes, access our member portal, and more!
You may not. The app recognizes when a screenshot is taken and will not allow for
screenshotted barcodes to be used to scan into the facility.
Our member portal, found at mycampusrec.montana.edu , is where all of our registrations,
event requests, and sports program information can be found. Registrations include group fitness
classes, personal training sessions, trips, clinics, and youth camps.
Group fitness classes are free for anyone with an active membership. Personal training
sessions are $35-45 per session, or $60 for select six-week courses.
Yes! We have lost and found storage for small items at our front desk and larger items at our
equipment desk. Items are logged and held for 30 days.
