Description of Request

Submitted By: Benjamin Clegg, Department Head of Psychology

AJM Johnson Hall 236 has undergone a notable transformation in its utilization, transitioning from a shared conference room to a dedicated research space. Originally utilized jointly by the Montana INBRE and Psychology department, the room gradually shifted away from its conference room function due to diminishing demand for such amenities and an increasing need for research facilities.  Additionally, other building occupants have not utilized the space for conferencing purposes. Consequently, it ceased to serve as a traditional conference room, lacking essential equipment for presentations and video conferencing. Over the past several years, AJMJ 236 has operated as a shared research facility, catering to the needs of three faculty members within the Psychology department and offering overflow research capacity for other labs. This evolution underscores the urgency for an official designation change to accurately reflect its current purpose and enhance its utility within the department's infrastructure.

Resolution
