Precision Agriculture Faculty Offices: Linfield Halll
Description of Request
Submitted By: Robert Peterson, LRES Department Head
Land Resources & Environmental Sciences (LRES) and Plant Sciences & Plant Pathology (PSPP), have jointly requested additional office space within Linfield Hall to accommodate incoming Precision Agriculture tenure-track positions. This request stems from the strategic need to foster cohesion within the Precision Agriculture unit.
The Endowed Chair for Precision Agriculture currently occupies space within the existing
Precision Ag footprint in suite 102, with his tenure locus in LRES. Given the interdisciplinary
nature of Precision Ag, co-location of faculty members from both LRES and PSPP is
deemed essential. The proposal involves expanding Precision Agriculture's current
footprint, which includes suites 101, 102, and 114 on the first floor of Linfield
Hall, to incorporate the immediately adjacent office space in Suite 103. Currently,
suite 103 is occupied by an employee of the Initiative for Regulation and Applied
Economic Analysis (IRAEA) program on a part-time basis. Following discussions with
the Department of Agricultural Economics and Economics, it has been agreed that IRAEA
will continue to occupy Suite 103B for the next year to fulfill the remaining grant
duties. Subsequently, the space will be allocated to Precision Agriculture. This expansion
of office space aligns with the collaborative ethos of Precision Agriculture and facilitates
the integration of incoming faculty members.
Resolution
Date: June 7, 2024
Space Management Committee has approved the allocation of suite 103 Linfield Hall to the Precision Ag program for use by new incoming faculty.
