WATER CENTER AWARDS GRANTS TO FACULTY AND STUDENTS
The Montana Water Center has awarded more than $60,000 in grants to faculty and graduate students from MSU,
the University of Montana and Montana Tech to research important questions about Montana’s waters.
CREEL AND CORNISH APPOINTED AS DISTINGUISHED PROFESSORS
Regents Professor Neil Cornish and conservation biologist Scott Creel have been appointed as Letters and Science
Distinguished Professors in recognition of their contributions to the college at MSU.
JUKKALA’S RESEARCH FOCUSES ON PROVIDING EXCELLENT CARE FOR MONTANA VETERANS
Angela Jukkala, a faculty member on the MSU College of Nursing’s Great Falls campus,
created a simulation for nursing students and is working to assess veterans’ needs.
GRAD STUDENT ZARIAH TOLMAN RECEIVES FUNDING FOR ‘POSITIVITY OUTWARD’
Tollman received funding from the Dennis & Phyllis Washington Foundation which she will use to fund her PhD.
Program in psychology as she continues to develop “Positivity Outward,”
a nonprofit that helps rural youth find their passions.
GALLATIN COUNTY PROVIDES $2 MILLION TO GALLATIN COLLEGE WORKFORCE PROGRAMS
The Gallatin County Commission voted to provide $2 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act funds
to Gallatin College MSU, the community’s lead career and technical education provider,
to grow the regional workforce in high-demand industries.
