Parents, Family and FERPA
FERPA for Parents and Families
Can I have access to my student's grades?
Grades are part of the student's educational record, which is protected under FERPA. The Office of the Registrar manages student grade records and the requirements to disclose those grades. Students may share their grades via an official transcript request OR may share their grades by providing screenshots of their unofficial transcript which can be accessed through MyInfo, DegreeWorks, or navMSU.
Some Offices on campus do have FERPA releases; these releases only allow them to release the information their offices are responsible for.
