Description of Request

Submitted By: Joan Broderick, Department Head Chemistry Biochemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is requesting to re-allocate space in the Chemistry Biochemistry Building (CBB) that was assigned to Robert Szilagyi, who has since left the university. The requested space includes a faculty office space in room 253, lab space in CBB rooms 254 and 258, and the adjacent graduate student space in 260. The department is requesting these spaces to accommodate new faculty hire, Christopher Lemon, who will be arriving to start his position in summer 2022. Currently, room 258 houses 2 gloveboxes that are utilized by Nick Stadie, Jennifer DuBois, and Joan Broderick’s research groups. Room 254 is currently used as a small lab space and storage. To create a better work environment for Christopher Lemon the glove boxes will be relocated from room 258 to room 254, with funding from the department. This will be a more efficient use of both spaces.

Resolution

Date: June 24, 2022

Space Management Committee has approved the allocation of CBB 253, 254, 258, 260 to incoming faculty member as described above
