 Dear Bobcat Parent and Family Members, For those of you who don't live in Montana, it may come as a surprise to hear that it SNOWED in Bozeman over the weekend. Though the dusting of snow in town didn't stick around, the mountain peaks are covered with a blanket of white. It's all a beautiful backdrop to the splendor of our fall colors. Ski season will be here soon enough, and until then the best of fall is upon us. And we're gearing up for two of our best events of the season. Homecoming week this year is Oct. 8-13 and includes a full a week of activities leading up to the football game on Saturday against the University of Idaho. This year, on Thursday, the MSU Alumni Foundation is helping to reestablish a tradition many alumni will remember: the "Hello Walk" on the Centennial Mall. Also, on Thursday at 4 p.m., your student won't want to miss the grand opening of the new climbing wall in the Hosaeus Fitness Center, complete with a climbing competition to follow. The week culminates with the community-wide pep rally downtown on Friday night and the Homecoming Parade on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. before the game. Next month, Parent and Family weekend is November 2-4, and we still have room for you and your family to attend! While we still have spots available, local hotel rooms go fast, so make your reservations today. One more big event this fall is Election Day! In preparing students to be engaged citizens, there are efforts by many on campus to make sure all eligible students are registered to vote in November. Will you remind your student that the deadline for "regular" voter registration in Montana is Oct. 9? Students can still register after that deadline, but they must go to the county election office to do so after Oct. 9. For more information, your student can visit this website.
