Dear Bobcat Parent and Family Members,

It's crunch time at MSU. We have two weeks left in the spring semester, plus a week of finals. There is so much going on with all the end of year activities that it's challenging to keep track of everything. I will be on campus every evening this coming week with one or more end of academic year gatherings, performances and celebrations. I'll share a few of these goings-on, so you have a sense of how eventful and demanding campus life can be for students right now.

First off, at this point in the semester, I want to reiterate the scope of academic support the Allen Yarnell Center for Student Success (AYCSS) offers. The AYCSS offers small group and individualized tutoring, as well as drop-in tutoring for specific courses. It's not too late to seek support. If your student can't find tutoring for a specific course through the AYCSS, encourage them to persist, and to ask their professor, a related faculty member, or a teaching assistant for guidance. Help is typically available.

And here's just a sampling of links to scheduled events that demonstrate how exceedingly engaged our students are socially and politically as well as academically

Sustainabilibash, April 18th
Student Research Celebration, April 18th
MSU College Republicans host Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA, April 18th Engineering Senior Design Fair, April 25th

As always, don't hesitate to be in touch if there are ways we, in the Dean of Students Office, can support your student as we persevere through the last weeks of the term

Sincerely,

Matthew R. Caires

Dean of Students
