Being Active While Being Body Positive

-Changing the Exercise Culture-
Focus on all of the wonders your body can do! If you like running, keep running! If you like lifting weights, then do it! Do what makes you and your body happy! People who have a more positive relationship with their body tend to be more likely to engage in physical activity. Do something active to feel good, relieve stress, or for health reasons!
The best way to be active is the way you enjoy. So keep in mind you don’t have to go to the gym to fill that void. Explore different avenues like going on a walk with a friend and/or your dog, going to Jump Time, or whatever else you like!
Going to the gym to change something about your body is very time consuming and difficult. There is so much more to you than how you look or the number on the scale! Be active to be your best self.
Lastly, wear what makes you feel good! There seems to be a pressure to wear certain clothes, like a certain aesthetic that you must fulfill. News flash, you don’t! Wear what makes you feel good and keeps your mind happy! Your clothing doesn’t determine what your status is when working out.
Activity!
Write down 5 body parts on one side of the page that you may struggle accepting. For example, my thighs, waist, or neck. Then write down 5 of your favorite activities on the other side of the page. For example, riding horses, dancing, or skiing. Think hard and connect what body parts help with your favorite activity. Such as, my thighs help me get on my horse, ride, and even saddle her up. Reflect on the importance of those body parts and embrace them!
Challenge!
Do any activity that makes you and your body feel good! Try to think positively about your body while doing this activity. Try to incorporate this thinking into everything you do. Challenge the exercise culture!
