Course Title: NRSG 574 Teaching Practicum
Credits: 1 to 4 (laboratory, may be repeated)
Semesters Offered: Fall, Spring, or Summer on demand
Prerequisites: NRSG 504 or Consent of Instructor
Course Description:
Teaching/learning principles are integrated into nursing education in academic or practice environments. Students practice, observe, and evaluate teaching/learning processes. The instructor and student negotiate laboratory activities.
Course Objectives:
1. Demonstrate appropriate teaching competencies.
2. Integrate personal philosophy of education into teaching activities.
3. Apply teaching and learning principles.
4. Evaluate outcomes in the teaching/learning process.
5. Use appropriate evidence as a basis for teaching practice.
- Laboratory credit as defined by the University (1 credit = 3 hours of work per week).
