Bobcat Nurse Profile
"I am a non-traditional student who found my passion for nursing after being a stay-at-home mom for several years. I chose MSU’s BSN program because of the stellar reputation Bobcat nurses have here in the Flathead Valley. Being a member of the small cohort in Kalispell has many advantages! To start, clinical learning opportunities in the area consist of three hospitals, many clinics, and other agencies throughout the community that allow students to encounter a diversity of experiences and populations. Also, the summer internship offered there is a great way to get more experience providing care for patients between semesters. The faculty in Kalispell is full of great nurse mentors! I genuinely felt that each of them was truly invested in my success: not only in the program, but also as a future nurse. Another great characteristic of the Kalispell campus and the area in general is their commitment to community. There are so many ways that students can get involved and help out in various capacities. Because of these attributes, I feel the Kalispell campus has provided me with a well-rounded nursing education that will allow me to deliver excellent holistic care to the patients I care for in the future." - Angi Veach, 2020 Bobcat Nurse Graduate

Transportation | Child Care |
It is very difficult to survive without an automobile, especially during clinical rotations. The public bus system (Eagle Transit) operates from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., which does not accommodate shift work. Bicycles are not a good option, due to cold weather. Automobiles are required for Community Health Nursing and community-based experiences in other courses, including home visits, cannot be made using a bike or bus.
