Who We Are

MilTech is an authorized National Government Partnership Intermediary that helps bring innovative technology to the U.S. government quickly, reliably and cost-effectively. MilTech was established in 2004 as a collaboration between Montana State University and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Partnership Intermediaries are state or local government entities that work with the Department of Defense (DOD), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as well as other federal agencies, to faciliate technology transfer and commercialization activities. 

As the only organization leveraging the Department of Commerce's nationwide Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) for the U.S. Government, MilTech has over 250 active and completed projects with DOD and DHS. Specifically for DHS, MilTech assists DHS Components, Program Managers, Labs and Integrated Product Teams with technology scouting, identifying technology gaps and unmet needs, critical design, prototyping, and manufacturability expertise to advance knowledge, technology and manufacturing readiness levels.
