Hello 4-H Families!
The 2026 Marias Fair Livestock Sale averages are here!
We had a gross total of $746,485 on 149 animals sold.
With 76 swine for $14.58, 25 sheep for $14.85, 5 goats
for $13.20 and 43 beef for $6.84!
Thank you to our generous buyers, bidders,
auctioneers, and ringmen who make this possible year
after year! You are truly helping to make the best
better!
In 2025, our gross total was $751,971 on 126 head.
We had 47 steers at $6.81, 5 goats at $19.60, 15 lambs
at $19.87, and 59 swine at $18.03.
It was a great year!

Shelby School Open House/Activity Fair
The Shelby Area Chamber of Commerce, MSU Toole County Extension & Shelby Public School
District #14 have partnered to create a Family/Youth Activity Fair on Tuesday, August
25, 2026,
starting at 5:00 PM during the School Open House, in the Shelby Elementary Gym. Last
year was
a great success and we look forward to another great year.

It is never too early to start thinking about the next year for 4-H. The new year
starts on October
1st and you can check out the Clover guide to see what kind of projects you might
be interested
in taking next year!

2026 Marias Fair Carcass Awards
In 2026 there were 3 of 5 goats (60%) that were certified as Carcass of Merit, while
8 of 26
(31%) of lambs were Certified Lamb carcasses, 16 of 78 (21%) of swine were Symbol
of
Excellence, and 5 of 43 (12%) steers were Steer of Merit certified carcasses. Additionally,
the Livestock Committee awards 1st place finishes $100, 2nd place: $75, 3rd place:
$50
and 4th place: $25.
