In 2006 the city of Hamilton voted on three sub-options. The first was should the mayor hire employees (517 votes) or Mayor hires employees with council approval (601 votes). The second sub option was should the mayor be presiding officer (603 votes) or council member presides (518 votes). The final sub option was the size of the council: six council members (573 votes) or seven council members (549 votes).
In 2016 the city of Hamiliton spent $10,000 on voter review.
