Current Research Interests:
I am studying the movement ecology and plague ecology of the black-tailed prairie dogs in north-central Montana. I will quantify prairie dogs’ energy expenses, movement, and activity budgets in relation to management schemes and the presence of black-footed ferrets. In addition, I will explore the impacts of plague mitigation on vegetation and insect composition in prairie dog towns and the differences in the prairie dogs' gut microbiome and stress levels between plague-treated and untreated prairie dog towns.
