This fall, Oscar Dalling attended the International Bear Association conference in Pescasseroli, Italy. In this small village within Abruzzo National Park, more than 300 researchers and managers from around the world came together to share work spanning all eight bear species. Oscar gave a talk on his graduate research, which focuses on novel camera trap methods for estimating grizzly and black bear abundance in Yellowstone National Park. He spent the week exchanging ideas with colleagues, learning from experts across the field, and, of course, enjoying Italian cuisine.
