Dear Bobcat parent and family members,

As we move toward March, things are busy as always at Montana State. Our Bobcat athletic teams are shining this season, with both the men's and women's track and field teams placing second at last weekend's Big Sky Conference championships in Spokane and our Bobcat ski team taking fourth at the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association Championships, which were hosted here in Bozeman.

And there's plenty more to come -- both Bobcat basketball teams will head to Boise for the conference tournament next week, aiming to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament. If you live near Boise, be sure to cheer on the Bobcats!

Would you believe it if I told you we have an important graduation deadline approaching? This Friday, March 1, is the last day undergraduate students can apply to graduate this summer or fall. Your student can find detailed information on the Office of the Registrar's Graduation Process and Application webpage. If they plan to complete their degree this summer or in the fall semester, you might remind them to review that information. This deadline also applies to our Gallatin College MSU students.

As your student prepares for future semesters, I also want to highlight our Off-Campus Student Life program, which was created just last year. Located in the Strand Union Building, this office is full of great resources if your student is planning to move off campus or change their living situation. OCSL can help with everything from finding roommates to navigating nutrition programs such as SNAP or WIC. They can also provide legal assistance and help accessing transportation. If you have an off-campus student, encourage them to learn about the many ways OCSL can help them.

Finally, we have a valuable mental health resource available to all students on campus this semester. If your student needs help with a specific concern but isn't sure whether counseling is the way to go, they can attend a "Let's Talk" drop-in session with a Counseling and Psychological Services staff member. "Let's Talk" sessions are designed for non-crisis situations and allow students to talk with a mental health professional in an approachable and accessible environment without needing to make an intake appointment. More information is available on the CPS website, and don't forget that crisis resources are always available on our MSU Assist webpage.

Kind regards,

P.S. As I mentioned in my last message, our (Almost) Spring Career Fair is coming up! We expect nearly 200 employers to attend this annual event, so if your student is interested in exploring jobs and internships around Montana and beyond, we hope you'll encourage them to attend!
