Dear Bobcat parent and family members,
Congratulations, your student is about to become a Montana State University alum! I share your pride in these graduating students. Earning a college degree is a major milestone and an exceptional achievement, and seeing the hard work and dedication of our soon-to-be graduates is why we at MSU love what we do.
As we near commencement, I want to thank you for being there for your student and being engaged during their time at MSU. This is the seventh year we've been actively communicating with our parents and family members. Thank you for reading these emails, keeping in touch with your students and occasionally responding. We love the notes we get from parents and appreciate your partnership in helping your student be as successful as they can be.
Commencement is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 15, at 9 a.m. Mountain time in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. Parking on campus is free on commencement day, and details about the ceremony are available on our commencement webpage. The link to the commencement livestream will be activated the morning of the ceremony on that same page for anyone who cannot attend.
For those who will attend in person, tickets are not required for admission to the ceremony.
Many colleges and departments across campus host commencement celebrations of their own during graduation week. You can find a full schedule of those events on our College Celebration webpage. They provide an opportunity to meet faculty and staff, enjoy refreshments and kickstart the festivities.
While their time at MSU may be coming to a close, your student - and you - will always be part of the Bobcat Family. I hope you will visit campus, perhaps during Homecoming in the fall. If you do, stop by our office in the Strand Union Building. We always love to hear what our graduates are up to!
