(Su) Geologic history of Northern Rocky Mountains and landscapes from Archean to present. Field examination of geologic evidence for history of the Gallatin and Bridger ranges and Yellowstone National Park. Exploration and development of teaching methods and resources for classroom use.

  1. Differentiate between basic rock types and describe their origins.
  2. Provide examples of landscape features and describe the geologic processes that formed them.
  3. Examine geologic principles through field observations.
