Nursing (Clinical Nurse Leader, A.D.R.N. to M.N.)

Bridge your career and your Associate Degree R.N. to gain a Master of Nursing, where you all will gain advanced leadership skills in healthcare.  Act as client advocates and leaders in the healthcare industry, and prepare to sit for the Clinical Nurse Leadership (CNL) certification exam at the conclusion of your studies.

Nursing – Master of Nursing (M.N.)

Master of Nursing candidates at Montana State prepare for roles in client advocacy and team management, folding in leadership and advanced clinical experience to prepare students for roles within the clinical world such as nurse managers, chief nursing officers, clinical instructors, and nursing educators. Candidates that are specifically enrolled in the A.D.R.N. to M.N. program utilize the on-the-job knowledge gained as working nurses with an associate registered nurse degree to apply these skills towards the completion of the M.N.

The Master of Nursing program has two tracks: the Bachelor of Science in Nursing to Master of Nursing and the Associate Degree Registered Nurse to Master of Nursing.

 

 

 

Graduates of the A.D.R.N. to M.N. program include Jacy Crawley '21, who used the skills gained in the program to strengthen patient care and nursing protocols  as the director of nursing at Rocky Boy Health Center, a health clinic on the Rocky Boy's Reservation in north-central Montana.

Rural Health Outreach
Montana State’s College of Nursing is a national leader in rural nursing research through the Montana Office of Rural Health and Area Health Education Center.

Caring For Our Own
The Caring for Our Own Program (CO-OP) offers support to Native American and Alaska Native nursing students and prepares them for practice, management and leadership to serve American Indian communities.

Rural Ready Health Practitioner Program
Students in the Rural Ready Nurse Practitioner Program will receive additional education to address being part of a rural community and be eligible to receive up to $17,500 per year for tuition, travel and more.

Distance Learning

Montana State’s graduate programs in the College of Nursing are designed to fit into students’ busy working schedules with distance learning. All graduate courses are offered primarily online, with a variety of class activities that are able to be completed at any time. Video conferencing with faculty and classmates complements the coursework.

To ensure that you start your application on the right foot, please review the admissions requirements for the Master of Nursing program. This includes any additional deadlines that the College of Nursing may have aside from the Graduate School, which does practice rolling admissions.
